So this essay was weird.... right?

Sometimes I felt like I wasn't focusing so much on my genre but more topic, and I don't even know if I quoted enough so it was really something else. I learned the vocabulary in class pretty well and that definately helped with writing my paper. and helped me understand my genre a lot better and strengthened the idea I have that audience is one of the most crucial elements in genre.

The writer has a goal and if they can't fully convince their audience in what they are writing then it really isn't anything. While writing my paper I further realized how important it is to know what makes a genre a genre to help you fully understand the point of the article and the affect it may have on you, especially if it is trying to persuade you in some way.

Having my genre be opinion articles, I realized how important opinion articles are because even if you do not have the same opinion you should be informed about what the other side thinks and be knowledgeable about why you have the opinion you do, and if you are prepared to talk about it to not offend the other side. The writing project truly helped me know how to look at an article, analyze it, and know what genre it is, and notice the affect it has on me and also understand that affect. I am sue this will help me throughout college while writing other papers.
