Hello Reader,
I will start off by introducing myself, my name is Amy
Gudino, so I do not have a middle name, in case you were wondering, the reason
being that my Mom has a personal problem with middle names. Well actually, she
believes they are unnecessary, but I think they are pretty cool.
I should probably tell you more about my self now, I am a
very eager first year here at UCSB, and am staying in Santa Rosa. I am from a
little town named Victorville, which is here in California, to give you an idea
of the area Victorville is around the place you see that desert scene during a
Las Vegas movie. The most exciting activity to do in Victorville is probably
going to the theater, and there is this small, overpriced theme park named
Scandia, so there’s that. I have lived in Victorville all my life, which
explains the eagerness I mentioned earlier. As possibly assumed, I love UCSB so
far, the campus is beautiful and everyone is very friendly and kind. By the
way, I am a first year English major and thinking about either switching into
Communication or making it a double major, I am struggling with quite a bit,
but I am confident I’ll figure it out.
Now to continue to my actual personality, and hobbies seem
like an appropriate place to start. I love to read and write, as for reading I
venture a little in each genre, but I have a soft spot for classic literature
like Hemingway and Fitzgerald, but I would be lying if I said, “Oh, I never
read modern teen fiction,” considering I read the entire “Twilight” series, that wasn’t my proudest moment. Like most
of humanity I enjoy music, and I really try to listen to everything, but of
course I have my favorites I like indie music, classic rock, jazz, and indie
folk. I absolutely love: Kimya Dawson, The Beatles, Passenger, Frank Sinatra,
The Killers, Jack Johnson, and The Moldy Peaches, to name a few. I also ride my
bike, not intense mountain biking just easygoing yet quick biking because it
turns out to be quite soothing.
I love movie too. Oh man, do I love movies, but I would
struggle quite a bit if you asked me what my favorite movie was. Instead, I’ll
tell you my favorite directors, which include: Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino,
Michael Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Spike Jonze, and Michel Gonry. I choose
these directors make they have directed some of my all time favorite movies.
This would just about include my about me blurb, s if you haven’t heard enough.
Anyways, if you made it this far into this crazy long intro of myself or if you
just skipped to the end, I hope you have a lovely day.
